La MJC constitue un élément essentiel de l’équipement social et culturelle de la commune. Elle a pour but de permettre à tous un accès à l’éducation et à la culture afin que chacun puisse participer à la construction d’une société plus juste, plus solidaire. Elle offre à la population, aux jeunes comme aux adultes, la possibilité de prendre conscience de leur environnement, de développer leur personnalité et de se préparer à devenir les citoyens actifs et responsables d’une communauté vivante.
Elle est laïque c’est à dire respectueuse des convictions personnelles. Elle s’interdit toute attache avec un parti ou une confession. Comme un certain nombre d’autres associations, les MJC se rattache à un vaste mouvement reconnu sous l’expression « association d’éducation populaire ». Ainsi, elles se révèlent être un outil concret d’apprentissage de la démocratie et de la citoyenneté. Susciter la participation des adhérents à la vie et aux décisions les concernant, est un de ses objectifs fondamentaux.
Le CLASSEC est une MJC rattachée à la Fédération Régionale ADL, elle-même membre de la Confédérration des MJC de France.
L’ensemble des MJC confédérées adhèrent à la déclaration de principe qui définit les orientations fondamentales de nos actions.
Les MJC, c’est 65 ans d’histoire que nous vous encourageons à découvrir sur ce site particulièrement complet et illustré.
